Chugging Along or Being the Difference

It's time to make the donuts!

~Fred, the baker

Although he slowly got up and began shuffling along before the sun every day, Fred knew that he had to get going to make the donuts. But why? It was his responsibility to wake the community and make sure people smiled. You thought I was going to say that his job was to make those glazed, double chocolate, vanilla frosted, strawberry frosted, old fashioned, Boston kreme, chocolate glazed, jelly, powdered, cinnamon, sugared or glazed blueberry favorites? No, he had to get up, get out, wake the rooster, get to the bakery and make sure the donuts were ready for the customers when they got up and out to start of their day. He had a serious set of tasks, starting the day of for everyone. And at the end of the day, he would return home with a little smirk saying, "I made the donuts!" Fred's job was really to make sure everyone else smiled. Look at what you do each day and make sure your actions are resulting in a joyful purpose in someone's life.

Open Your Eyes

People see God every day; they just don't recognize Him.

~Pearl Bailey

I was passing through one of those superstores on yesterday and saw a friend whom I had missed for long. Well, I had actually never met her before, but once we were in conversation, I was so filled with joy that I was seeing this friend whom I had missed for so many years, I forgot that it was actually our introduction to one another. Then in the course of our awesome conversation, she said, "the Bible says, 'A man that hath friends must show himself friendly' and that is how I try to live my life." God is all around us, don't miss out on meeting Him because you are afraid to open up and be a friend!
